A non-refundable deposit of $200.00 CDN is required to hold a specific puppy. If the Buyer changes his/her mind after the Seller receives the deposit, it will be retained for care and advertising of the puppy until a suitable replacement can be arranged. Seller has the option to terminate the sale and return the 100% of deposit fee prior to the placement of the puppy. Full Purchase Price must be paid before shipping date or deposit and puppy will be forfeited.
THIS CONTRACT IS NON-TRANSFERABLE – Purchase price does not include the cost of shipping, crate and bill of health for transfer of the puppy on an approved airline. These costs will be the responsibility of the Buyer
Health – Seller warrants that the above described dog/puppy is in good health at the time Buyer assumes ownership. As this dog/puppy is being purchased as a companion pet, the Seller recommends to the Buyer that said dog/puppy be neutered/spayed when it reaches maturity.Up to Date Vaccination records will accompany the dog/puppy and will be provided by the Seller.
Satisfaction Guarantee – Buyer agrees to have the puppy examined by a licensed Veterinarian within two (2) days (not including Sunday’s and Holiday’s) of receipt of dog/puppy (Buyer’s Expense).
The Seller does not assume any liability for any injury or sickness contracted on the Buyer’s property or after the 48 hours of receipt of dog/puppy (this includes parasites and protozoan diseases). Seller shall not held responsible for acts of dog/puppy which are due to Buyers negligence.
If said dog/puppy has to be shipped back, these costs will be the responsibility of the Buyer. All appropriate shots for the dog/puppy’s age have been given, and a record of this vaccination history is supplied.
The Buyer agrees to maintain the dog/puppy’s health in Good Condition, and to provide yearly examinations, vaccinations, heartworm test and any other usual procedures necessary to ensure good health. The Buyers agrees to provide a suitable fenced area for this dog/puppy. This dog/puppy shall also have adequate and proper shelter and housed properly. If housed in a Condo, the dog shall have adequate walks to ensure proper health for this dog/puppy.
The Buyer agrees that this dog/puppy will not be tied out or chained unless properly supervised for the duration of by an Adult. . The Buyer agrees to feed a high quality dog food and have fresh water at all times. The Buyer agrees to make a reasonable effort to adequately train and exercise his/her Portuguese Water Dog which will result in a strengthening of the natural bond between Buyer and the dog/puppy.The Seller recommends obedience training.
The dog/puppy is not guaranteed for coat colour or coat type ie: the Buyer understands that there is no control over the changes which may occur in coat colour/type as the puppy matures therefore, the coat may change considerably over time.
The Buyer shall keep in conformity with the local and municipal by-laws and assumes no liability for any damages caused by the dog/puppy.
CKC Registration – Seaward Portuguese Water Dogs certifies that the dog/puppy is eligible for registration under the Regulations of the Canadian Kennel Club as a purebred Portuguese Water Dog and will not provide the Registration papers until the dog/puppy has been spayed/neutered and a valid veterinarian certificate has been received. The Buyer shall provide original copies to the Seller before Registration papers are transferred to the Buyer. This will warrant against irresponsible breeding.
Hip Warranty – This warranty is only valid for 26 months from the date of birth of said dog/puppy. Said dog/puppy must not have been bred or sired a litter of puppies to be effective. The Buyer should educate himself/herself to proper nutrition of the dog/puppy so as not to induce joint problems of either lack of nutrition or by causing an overweight condition in the developing dog/puppy. It is understood that Hip Dysplasia can be caused by poor nutrition or injury. In the event of GENETIC hip dysplasia that warrants euthanization of the dog/puppy before the age of 26 months, the Seller agrees to replace said dog/puppy with a puppy of the same quality but the following conditions must be met.
Buyer notifies the Seller promptly after such a condition is diagnosed and not later than the dog/puppy reaching 26 months of age.
A copy of the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals refusal must be sent to the Sellers.
The dog/puppy must not have been bred or sired a litter.
A certificate of euthanization from a Licensed Veterinarian for said dog/puppy and a written statement of the diagnosis. Please note that the Sellers do not require euthanization of said dog/puppy, but if said dog/puppy does develop GENETIC HIP DYSPLASIA before the age of 26 months, the Seller will refund 25% of purchase price less the non-refundable deposit. A dog/puppy found to have a mild condition, which will not in any way shorten or diminish the quality of life for that dog/puppy, WILL NOT BE REPLACED.
This dog is guaranteed until two (2) years of age for cataracts causing blindness. Both parents have been CERF’d Normal.
Seller is not responsible for any Veterinarian Bills unless agreed upon in writing. We highly recommend Pet Insurance as a certain percentage of the bill will be covered by the Insurance.
The Buyer will not re-sell or give away said dog/puppy to any pet shop and/or SPCA. If the Buyer decides to give up this Dog/puppy due to unforeseen circumstances, the Seller will require that the dog/puppy be returned to the Seller. We understand that many changes in a person’s life will mean giving up the dog/puppy so we require that the dog/puppy be returned.
Any disputes over this contract will be settled in the city of residence of Seaward Portuguese Water Dog’s at the time of the dispute.
If the Buyer is found to be in violation of any of the above or mistreating the dog/puppy, Buyer agrees to the return of the dog/puppy to the Seller at the Buyer's expense including but not limited to Legal, Veterinarian and Shipping of the Kitten/Cat and No Refund will be given.
There are no cash refunds. Dog/puppy will be replaced as soon as another dog/puppy of equal value becomes available.
